Ball of Yarn
I have met a few new brides to be over the past few weeks and love listening to all of their ideas. What always strikes me is their lack of confidence with those ideas. When I say I love it, I really mean it. I like to hear their color choices, what their themes are and what their girls gowns will look like. She shyly tells me about her bright red shoes or ceremony vows and even what style of music they like. I'm not quite sure what they think I will say, but they seem to look at me as if I am going to swat them. I am sure their family or friends have given them "the look". But, I have always said, this is the first event you are hosting as a married couple. It should be about you and what you love. Who cares if you both have a private joke about a gorilla that you would like to include somewhere on your invitations. Or, that he proposed on a cruise so you want "ship in a bottle" favors. What if you wanted red and green linens in July? I don't care. I do care that they arrive on time and that I have enough staff to get it set up in time. But, no matter what you want, it's your day honey - lift your head up, stick your chest out and be proud that you have ordered that chocolate Easter bunny wedding cake. And, I'll make sure you love every morsel of it!
